How it would work

From an empty corner to a growing record.

The planned experience, step by step. Sketches are concepts — not screens from a finished app.

  1. Planned

    Tell GardenCopilot about your space

Your growing area, natural light, equipment, budget — and what you'd like to grow.

  2. Planned

    Build a growing plan

It would help organise your setup choices and a practical care schedule, based on what you've told it.

  3. Planned

    Track your plants

Record planting dates, progress photos, observations and the care tasks you've done — plant by plant.

  4. Planned

    Learn and improve

Compare what you recorded across plants and seasons, and see what worked and what you might change.

Why not just ask a chatbot?

Your garden has a history. Your growing assistant should understand it.

A one-off conversation starts from scratch every time. GardenCopilot aims to remember your setup, your plants and what you've observed — so advice can build on what has actually happened in your garden.

  • Persistent records Your setup and every plant, kept over time.
  • Structured plans Setup choices and care schedules in one place.
  • Progress over time Observations and photos on a timeline.
  • Practical guidance Grounded in real growing, like the guides on this site.
  • AI where it helps Used where it's useful and reliable enough — and clear when it's unsure.

Built from a real experiment

It started in my software office.

I started with five plants, added five more, then another five — and ended up with approximately 20 cherry tomato and cucumber plants growing between the desks and the windows.

What made it useful wasn't just growing them. It was recording which plants were growing, when things changed and what I saw. For example, I counted 186 tomato trusses across five plants — a tracking record, not a harvest weight. That's the habit GardenCopilot is meant to make easy.

Where things stand

Available today, and what's next.

GardenCopilot is in development. The experiment logs, guides and free calculator are available today. The personal growing assistant is planned, and I'll share progress as it becomes real.

Is GardenCopilot available today?

Not yet. The app is in development. What's available now is free: the experiment logs, the guides and the grow-light cost calculator.

Will it use AI?

Where it's genuinely useful and reliable enough. The core idea is keeping good records of your setup and plants; AI assistance would build on that, not replace it.

Can I get notified about the launch?

Yes — join the growing updates below. You'll get experiment findings, practical updates and news about the app as it develops.
